The Astoria Bridge connects Oregon to Washington, 3.7 miles across the mighty Columbia River. I walked along the river on the combined walking/cycling and rail trolley path. Astoria is a small, pleasant town on a big waterway. The Columbia is the largest river in the western hemisphere entering the Pacific at the broadest expanse of open ocean in the world.
